Recently, the Minister of Transport, Saksayam Chidchob, examined Suvarnabhumi Airport to assess its readiness to accept arriving tourists during the peak tourism season.

The minister stated that 115,000 passengers are using the airport daily in November, with this figure likely to reach 130,000 in December.

Minister Saksayam stated that there will be an increase in international tourists during the peak season. In addition, he predicted that Chinese visitors will return to Thailand in the first quarter of 2023 or no later than March.

In the meanwhile, passport procedures have been effectively simplified, reducing the average wait time at immigration to 15 minutes per tourist. Immigration authorities now take an average of only 1 minute to process each tourist entering the country, allowing the passport control facility to process 3,000 people in only 20 minutes.

The ministry of transportation further specified that all bags must be at the baggage claim belt no later than 30 minutes after the airline lands.
