About a thousand people from 60 different nations are attending the conference. The congress addresses current issues in public health and provides updates on a wide range of topics related to tropical medicine and malaria, such as communicable and non-communicable diseases, neglected tropical diseases, emerging and re-emerging diseases, COVID-19, monkeypox, drug resistance, parasitology, zoonoses, food- and water-borne diseases, travel medicine, and more.
In addition to discussing breakthrough medication research, the congress will showcase the next generation of COVID-19 vaccines, dengue vaccines, and TB vaccinations. The plan to completely rid Thailand of malaria by the year 2029 will also be discussed.
The International Congress on Tropical Medicine and Parasitology (ICTMM2020) is being held in conjunction with the 9th ASEAN Congress of Tropical Medicine and Parasitology (ACTMP), making it a one-of-a-kind platform for researchers and parasitologists in the region to interact with experts from around the world, build their networks, and find potential partners.
When it comes to tropical medicine, one of the major conferences is the International Congress for Tropical Medicine and Malaria (ICTMM), which is supported by the International Federation for Tropical Medicine. Once every four years, it convenes hundreds of academics, specialists, policy-makers, stakeholders, and international authorities to discuss advances in tropical medicine and malaria.
