On July 12, 2025, the Provincial Electricity Authority (PEA) and the Volleyball Association of Thailand jointly announced the launch of the PEA-Domestic Power Youth Volleyball Championship for players under 18 years of age. The event, scheduled for July 13–20 in Mukdahan Province, aims to promote youth athletic development and will serve as a regional qualifying tournament for the Northeastern Lower Region of Thailand.

The championship will also feature competition for the Royal Trophy of Her Royal Highness Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn. This initiative is part of the broader PEA Teach Young Volleyball National Team Project, now in its 21st year. The event will take place at two venues: the Chongwutthiwet Building at the Mukdahan Provincial Central Stadium and the Mudawitya Nukun School.
In parallel, the PEA will host a training program on July 20, 2025, as part of its youth development campaign. Sixty students from four schools will participate in a training session led by current and former members of Thailand’s national volleyball team, many of whom are PEA staff. The session will take place at the Chongwutthiwet Building and is designed to pass on practical skills and promote healthier lifestyles through sport.
The PEA’s partnership with the Volleyball Association is intended to strengthen youth engagement in athletics, foster discipline, and encourage career paths in sports. Organizers highlight that past iterations of the program have helped cultivate national athletes who have represented Thailand internationally.

The press conference announcing the event was held at Mukdahan Wittayanukul School and attended by local officials and representatives from the Sports Authority of Thailand, the Mukdahan Sports Association, and school leadership in the region.
