A fatal collision between two 18-wheeler trucks occurred on the evening of July 2 near the entrance of Wat Bang Sai on Chachoengsao-Bang Nam Prieo Road in Moo 4, Phrong Akat sub-district, Bang Nam Prieo district, Chachoengsao province. The incident resulted in one death and left another man seriously injured.
According to local police, a truck transporting corn, driven by a 70-year-old man, veered into the oncoming lane and collided head-on with a truck carrying rubber. The impact killed the corn truck driver at the scene. Authorities suspect that the driver may have fallen asleep behind the wheel, leading to the accident.
The driver of the rubber truck, a 34-year-old man, was trapped in the wreckage and sustained serious injuries. Rescue teams from Chachoengsao and Bang Nam Prieo responded promptly, working to free him from the vehicle before transporting him to Bang Nam Prieo Hospital for emergency treatment.
Emergency responders and law enforcement are continuing their investigation to confirm the cause of the crash and determine whether fatigue or other factors played a role.
