The deceased, believed to be between 30 and 35 years old, was not affiliated with Boon Wattana School, a prominent secondary institution in the province. CCTV footage showed the man entering the campus by motorcycle via Gate 2 in the early hours of Thursday morning. He was later seen scaling the nine-storey Chalerm Phrakiat building and reaching the sixth floor, from where he fell to his death around 6am.
Police responding to the scene said the man may have accessed the roof through a rear awning, bypassing locked entrances. Night patrols reported no unusual activity prior to the incident. His identity and motives remain under investigation, although initial findings suggest personal issues may have played a role.
The school announced a temporary closure for the day to prioritise the mental well-being of students and staff. In a formal notice signed by school director Wichian Thongklee, officials confirmed the man had no connection to the school’s faculty or student body.
Local authorities have cordoned off the area as they continue inquiries. The incident has raised broader concerns as it is the sixth fall-related fatality at Boon Wattana School since 2021.
