
On April 3, 2025, Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi arrived in Thailand for an official visit, welcomed at Military Airport 2, Wing 6 in Bangkok. The visit aims to strengthen diplomatic relations between India and Thailand, with a focus on expanding trade, investment, and cooperation across key sectors.
The discussions between the two countries are expected to reinforce their strategic partnership and explore opportunities to enhance collaboration in tourism, education, and agricultural exports, particularly in promoting Indian produce within the Thai market. The leaders will also address mutual interests in technological and economic development.
Prime Minister Modi’s visit coincides with the 6th Bay of Bengal Initiative for Multi-Sectoral Technical and Economic Cooperation (BIMSTEC) Summit, which Thailand is hosting. The summit will bring together leaders from member nations to outline future strategies for regional integration, aiming to create a more prosperous, sustainable, and resilient Bay of Bengal region.
Also present at the official reception were Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Transport Suriya Juangroongruangkit, and Minister of Commerce Phichai Naripthaphan, who also serves as Minister of Honor for the event.
