The forthcoming APEC Economic Leaders’ Week has been a focal point of discussions between the Russian Ambassador to Thailand and the Public Relations Department on mutual cooperation in the mass media.
Public Relations Director General Lt. Gen. Sansern Kaewkamnerd and other PRD officials greeted H.E. Evgeny Tomikhin, the Russian Ambassador to Thailand, and his party.
The purpose of today’s meeting, which was attended by representatives from Russia’s TASS News Agency, was to negotiate an information exchange agreement between the PRD and TASS News Agency, which would include promoting the forthcoming APEC Economic Leaders’ Week (AELW) on November 14-19.
By providing details on registration and the functioning of the Media Press Center, the PRD aided the Russian media in getting ready to cover the AELW.
There has been a 125-year period of peace and friendship between Thailand and Russia. It was hoped that this meeting would mark the beginning of a new era of increased collaboration between the two countries’ media outlets.
