Thailand will ease restrictions on alcohol sales in selected locations starting 27 June 2025, following an official announcement in the Royal Gazette. The new regulation, issued by the Prime Minister’s Office, allows alcohol to be sold around the clock in international airport passenger areas, licensed entertainment venues, and registered hotels.

The move updates provisions under the Alcohol Beverage Control Act, replacing rules in place since 2015. The decision is intended to support the country’s tourism industry and service sector by offering greater flexibility in alcohol sales at key venues frequented by both international visitors and domestic travelers.

In all other locations, existing restrictions on alcohol sales remain unchanged, limiting sales to two periods daily: from 11:00 to 14:00 and from 17:00 to midnight.

The change follows recommendations from the National Alcohol Policy Committee and was signed into effect by Prime Minister Paetongtarn Shinawatra.
