On June 28, 2025, representatives from the Provident Fund for Permanent Employees of Government Agencies (GSC) convened in Surat Thani Province to provide updates on the fund’s performance and promote membership benefits to government employees across southern Thailand. The seminar, hosted at the Diamond Plaza Hotel in Mueang District, drew participation from multiple provinces across the region.

The gathering aimed to strengthen engagement with existing members and encourage new enrollments into the fund. It featured presentations on recent operational results, new initiatives, and financial strategies relevant to public sector employees.

According to Mr. Wisitha Tangjitnob, Manager of the GSC Office, the seminar outlined various services and benefits available to members, including updated procedures for installment withdrawals and continued savings within the fund. The session also served as an outreach opportunity to inform non-member permanent government employees about the advantages of joining.

The GSC was formally established in accordance with the Thai Cabinet Resolution on November 26, 1996. It received official registration under the Provident Fund Act B.E. 2530 on March 27, 1997, through the Comptroller General’s Department of the Ministry of Finance. As of December 31, 2024, the fund reported net assets totaling 12.23 billion baht. The average annual return since its inception stands at 4.40 percent, with 34,288 members from 4,130 government agencies.

Deputy Governor of Surat Thani, Mr. Witthasak Chamnanusit, welcomed the GSC delegation on behalf of Governor Thirut Suphawibulphol. Leading the GSC team was Mr. Santi Pawai, Chairman of the 14th GSC, who presided over the seminar and discussions with attendees.
