A six-wheel crane fell from an elevated road construction project on Phra Ram 2 Road in Samut Sakhon, crashing onto a pickup truck below and causing injuries. The accident occurred in the early hours of April 4, 2015, on the parallel lane of the Bangkok-bound side near Village 4 in Nadi Subdistrict, Mueang District.
Authorities from the Narasingh Radio Center at Samut Sakhon City Police Station received a report of the incident at 2:35 a.m. Emergency responders arrived to find the overturned crane obstructing traffic. The fallen machinery had severely damaged a pickup truck transporting medical supplies, with the impact concentrated on the driver’s side.
Preliminary assessments suggest the crane, which had been stationed atop the elevated construction site, may have slipped before plummeting onto the roadway. Officials are investigating the cause of the accident.
Several local officials and emergency personnel were present at the scene to assess the situation and provide assistance.
