Miss Grand International has officially announced the cancellation of Cambodia as its host country due to the host organization’s failure to meet the requirements outlined in the hosting agreement. The organization communicated this decision via its Facebook page, stating, “We will proceed with our upcoming activities in Thailand, beginning on October 7, 2024, onwards.”
This announcement comes in the wake of concerns regarding safety, following the circulation of images depicting international contestants on a nighttime river cruise, which raised alarms about their well-being. In response to the cancellation, Miss Grand Cambodia issued a counter-statement indicating its decision to sever ties with Miss Grand International, stating it would no longer collaborate with the organization.
The situation highlights the challenges of international pageantry and the importance of adhering to safety protocols and hosting agreements. The decision has sparked discussions among fans and participants regarding the implications for future events and collaborations within the pageantry community.
