In a dramatic turn of events, 72-year-old Pornchai was rescued from his bathroom in Chon Buri, Thailand, after being trapped for three days. The incident began when Pornchai fell early Sunday morning, slipping on the wet floor of his second-story bathroom, and was unable to get up. The urgent response from local rescue services followed his three-day ordeal without food or significant movement until his rescue on Wednesday night.

The rescue mission was triggered when a friend of Pornchai’s son, assigned to check on him, heard faint cries for help coming from the bathroom. The friend broke into the bathroom window to assist Pornchai and called for help.

Rescue workers from the Sawang Rojanathamsathan Foundation arrived at the scene and found the elderly man in a weakened state. They quickly administered first aid and transported him to Somdej Phra Nangchaosirikit Hospital for further medical attention. Reports confirm that Pornchai is now stable but remains under careful observation due to the severity of his condition and the duration of his immobility.

This incident highlights the significant risks faced by elderly individuals living alone. It serves as a crucial reminder of the importance of regular communication and check-ins with older relatives and friends, particularly those who are vulnerable or have mobility issues.

The community’s response has been one of relief and concern, sparking discussions about preventive measures to avoid similar incidents. Local authorities are considering initiatives to improve safety for seniors, such as installing emergency alert systems in the homes of elderly residents. These discussions emphasize the necessity of accessible emergency aid and community vigilance in safeguarding the welfare of seniors.

Local officials and community members have expressed their commitment to implementing safety measures and enhancing support systems for the elderly to prevent such incidents in the future.
