Phenix Pratunam on Phetchaburi Road in Bangkok has been unveiled as a comprehensive global food center, poised to become a new destination for tourists and food enthusiasts. The announcement was made by Wallapa Traisorat, CEO and Managing Director of Asset World Corporation Public Company Limited (AWC), who revealed that the company has transformed the Pantip Pratunam project, with an investment exceeding 10 billion baht, into the new Phenix project.

The Phenix project aims to establish itself as a global food hub, featuring premium food ingredients, food wholesale, food retail, and food lounges. This initiative is designed to connect wholesalers and shoppers worldwide, thereby solidifying its position as a central food hub in Bangkok. AWC is committed to bolstering Thailand’s tourism and food industry, in alignment with government policy, by creating this significant global food destination.

Phenix Pratunam introduces an innovative model targeting both wholesale and retail sectors, linking food suppliers, buyers, and sellers globally through offline and online platforms. Covering a strategic area of over 69,000 square meters in Pratunam, the project’s total value surpasses 10 billion baht.

“Phenix is now open, with 80 percent of the retail space already leased. The company has invested 1 billion baht in site renovations and allocated 200 million baht for marketing efforts to draw tourists and food aficionados to this new landmark in Pratunam. We aim to attract 20,000 visitors per day, with an initial target of 10,000 daily visitors,” stated Wallapa. Pratunam, known for its vibrant shopping scene, is strategically located near affluent areas like Ratchaprasong, Chidlom, and Ploenchit, making it an ideal location for a food hub that supports Thailand’s goal of becoming a global food destination.

Prime Minister Srettha Thavisin presided over the opening ceremony of the Phenix project. He highlighted the collaboration between AWC and various partners to promote tourism and the food industry, featuring the World’s Food Wholesale Hub and International Pavilion, as well as diverse food lounges for consumers. The initiative aligns with future activities to promote the food sector.

“I am confident that the Phenix project will achieve its goals through the collaboration of all sectors, both public and private. This project aligns with the government’s ‘Thai Cuisine for the World’ initiative, which aims to position Thailand as a global food hub and enhance Thailand’s influence in the food sector as part of the ‘Must Eat’ strategy of the ‘5 Must Do in Thailand’ campaign,” the Prime Minister remarked.

The opening ceremony saw the attendance of numerous officials and industry representatives, further underscoring the significance of the Phenix project in promoting Thailand’s food and tourism industries.
