The Thai government has greenlit the Mass Rapid Transit Authority of Thailand’s (MRTA) proposal for a revamped ticket pricing scheme for the Blue Line MRT, set to commence on July 3, 2024.

The updated fares will span from 17 to 45 baht per ride, adhering to the contract’s biannual inflation adjustment clause.

According to Deputy Government Spokesperson, Ms. Kenikar Unjit, the current ticket prices range from 16 to 43 baht, with the new structure maintaining the minimum fare at 17 baht while increasing the maximum to 45 baht.

These adjustments are rooted in the Consumer Price Index (CPI) data provided by the Office of Policy and Strategy for Trade, under the Ministry of Commerce.

Under the revised system, trips encompassing up to 9 stations on the Blue Line MRT will incur a 17 baht fare, while journeys spanning 12 stations or more will cost 45 baht.
