The Expressway Authority of Thailand (EXAT), under the Ministry of Transport, has announced toll collection adjustments for the Songkran Festival 2024. To ease travel and reduce the financial burden during this period, tolls will be waived on certain expressways from April 11 to April 17, aligning with the government’s policy to facilitate holiday travel and cost savings for the public.

Specifically, toll exemptions will apply on the Burapha Withi, Kanchanaphisek (Bang Phli – Suksawat), and Chalong Rat expressways from the start of April 11 to the end of April 17. Additionally, the Chalerm Maha Nakhon, Si Rat, and Udon Ratthaya expressways will see toll waivers from the early hours of April 13 until midnight on April 15, in celebration of Songkran Day.

However, on regular days, travelers from Chonburi heading inbound will still pay the usual tolls at the Bangna Toll Plaza on the Burapha Withi and Chalong Rat expressways before seamlessly continuing on the Chalerm Maha Nakhon Expressway without extra charges.

A special note for users of the Chalerm Maha Nakhon Expressway is that during the Songkran period, an additional toll will be collected at the Bang Chak Toll Plaza, with four-wheel vehicles incurring an extra 5 baht. But, to accommodate the festive surge, EXAT will exempt these additional tolls for the Chalong Rat Expressway from April 11 to April 17.

For those entering the Chalerm Maha Nakhon Expressway via the Burapha Withi Expressway, toll fees at Bang Chak Toll Plaza will apply before and after the main Songkran holiday, specifically from the beginning of April 11 to April 12 and from the early hours of April 16 to the end of April 17, with rates set for various vehicle types.

This toll regulation during Songkran aims to streamline traffic flow and assist travelers in their holiday journeys across Bangkok’s expressway network.
