Prime Minister Srettha Thavisin has called for urgent action amidst Myanmar’s escalating crisis, convening a high-level meeting to address Thailand’s stance. The meeting aims to bolster diplomatic engagement while extending humanitarian support to the affected.

In response to the turmoil, Prime Minister Thavisin emphasized Thailand’s commitment to collaborating with key stakeholders to restore peace and stability in Myanmar swiftly. The discussions underscored Thailand’s readiness to offer crucial aid to mitigate the humanitarian fallout.

Highlighting the gravity of the situation, Thavisin stressed the imperative of fostering peace and stability in Myanmar for the welfare of both Thai and Myanmar citizens. He affirmed Thailand’s preparedness to manage potential repercussions on border trade and other vital aspects.

To ensure a cohesive approach, a dedicated task force will be established under the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, with the involvement of the National Security Office. This strategic move aims to enhance Thailand’s responsiveness to the multifaceted challenges emanating from the Myanmar crisis.
