The event, occurring only twice a year, invites participants to experience the marvels of a telescope with a staggering diameter of 2.4 meters—the largest and most advanced in Southeast Asia. Moreover, attendees can gaze at celestial wonders through a telescope boasting a 1-meter diameter and explore the workspace of astronomers at the National Astronomical Research Institute of Thailand (NARIT).
The event is set for Saturday February 3, 2567. Limited to 120 participants per session, eager stargazers can secure their spots for a registration fee of 300 Baht per person. Detailed schedules and additional information can be found at https://bit.ly/TNO2024-schedule01.
NARIT, established in 2004 under the Ministry of Higher Education, Science, Research, and Innovation, stands as a cornerstone in advancing astronomical research, education, and public outreach in Thailand. The institute, committed to fostering scientific curiosity, operates TNO as a vital hub for astronomical observation, housing state-of-the-art telescopes that contribute to cutting-edge research initiatives.
Beyond its scientific pursuits, NARIT actively engages in cultivating the next generation of astronomers and scientists. Collaborating with universities and research organizations, the institute provides training programs, workshops, and scholarships to propel academic excellence in astronomy and related fields.
Recognizing the significance of public engagement, NARIT is dedicated to sharing the wonders of the universe with the broader community. Through public lectures, stargazing events, and educational initiatives for schools and communities, NARIT makes astronomy accessible, aiming to ignite curiosity and passion for science among the Thai populace.
As the foremost institution for astronomical research and education in Thailand, NARIT continues to contribute significantly to the global scientific community while instilling a profound appreciation for the cosmos among its citizens.
