Gen Prayut Chan-o-cha, Thailand’s Caretaker Prime Minister and Defense Minister, has announced his retirement from politics in a message released on the United Thai Nation Party Facebook page.

Gen Prayut expressed his decision to join the United Thai Nation Party as a means of contributing to its growth. He envisioned the party as a strong political force grounded in principles and devoted to the nation, religion, and monarchy. Being a member of the party allowed him to connect with citizens across the country, an experience that deeply touched him due to the overwhelming support and faith he received.

The caretaker prime minister highlighted his diligent administration and responsible management of the national budget, emphasizing his commitment to adhering to all legal and fiscal regulations during his tenure.

Gen Prayut officially resigns from the United Thai Nation Party as he steps away from politics, entrusting the party’s leaders, executive committee, and members to continue their efforts with unwavering dedication. He expressed his belief that they will safeguard the nation, religion, and monarchy while prioritizing the welfare of Thai citizens.

Gen Prayut encouraged the public to continue supporting the party’s initiatives and expressed gratitude to all who have supported his political journey.
