China suffered their first loss in the 2022 FIVB Volleyball Nations League, falling 3-2 to Thailand.
ANKARA, 5 June (Xinhua) — On Sunday, China’s national women’s volleyball team lost 3-2 to Thailand in the 2022 FIVB Volleyball Nations League (VNL) here.
Thailand won the first and fourth sets 25-23, 25-23, while China won the second and third sets 25-13, 25-14, forcing a tiebreaker.
Thailand defeated China 15-11 in the fifth set to win the match.
Li Yingying, an outside hitter, scored 28 points, as did Thailand’s Kokram Pimpichaya.
China suffered its first defeat since the tournament began on May 31.
China began the 2022 VNL campaign with a 3-1 victory over the Netherlands on Wednesday, followed by a 3-1 victory over Turkey on Friday and another 3-1 victory over Italy on Saturday.
