On May 23, 2022, the Royal Thai Police District 3 police officer was notified and flew to search and rescue a captain and two tourists by helicopter. The yacht was swept away by strong waves and capsized between Koh Ha and Koh Lanta, and the three floated in the middle of the sea in a rubber dinghy, the location about 10 miles south of Koh Lanta National Park, Krabi.

The incident occurred in the early hours of May 22, and officials were not notified by the Chaitrakarn 15 commercial fishing vessel until late afternoon. The three were rescued at the border between Trang Province and Sikao District; they are two Malaysian tourists by speedboat, Mr Lim Ah Hock, 52, Mr Woei Hun Yee, 45, and the 38-year-old Mr Narut Majarat, the boat captain from Tambon Pa Kok, Thalang district. The three were in a safe condition; they went to Koh Lanta Hospital from Phuket Province for a physical examination. While they finished their statements record at the Lanta Provincial Police Station, they were brought back to Phuket by relatives on the same day.

Krabi port officials are preparing to call the captain to investigate what caused the yacht to capsize and enter the high tide zone, which has announced a suspension of tourism activities during the monsoon season from May 16. At the same time, the regional port office and Klaba branch issued a notice that from May 23-25, 2022, all kinds of ships should beware of strong wind and prohibit the passage of vessels in the area where the yacht sank.
