Phuket and Koh Sumai had a prior plan to reopen at the end of the August 2021, but instead it opened a week earlier today. Bangkok Airways revived the flight route with limited service. The people can travel to Phuket first stay there for a week and then go to any destination or island cluster of Koh Tao, Koh Phangan, and Koh Samui. the schemes in Phuket Sandbox and Samui Plus will be restarting as a part of the Sandbox 7+7 extension programme.
Bangkok Airways strongly recommends you to check the up-to-date announcement or order issued by the local / municipal authorities of both your departure and destination point to ensure that requirements under such restrictive measures are met (including COVID-19 testing and vaccination documentation requirements), especially when it is close to the travelling date as the announcement or order may be reissued any time between the booking date and the travelling date.
Documents you will need, Certificates of Entry (COE):
- Copy of valid passport.
- Copy of the payment confirmation for no less than 14 nights stay at SHA Plus-certified hotel/s and for RT-PCR tests via www.thailandpsas.com. If the length of stay is less than 14 nights, travellers must also present a confirmed flight ticket out of Thailand.
- A certificate of vaccination against COVID-19 with a vaccine approved by Thailand’s Ministry of Public Health or the World Health Organisation (WHO) no less than 14 days before their travel date.
- Copy of an insurance policy in English covering healthcare and treatment expenses for COVID-19 per applicant for the whole duration in Thailand with coverage clearly identified as no less than US$100,000.
The timing for the flight, departing to Koh Samui at 11:25 am and arriving an hour later in Phuket at 12:25 pm. After an unusually short 35 minute turnaround time, it will depart Phuket at 1 pm and arrive back in Samui at 2 pm.
