Crab Delivery Mix-Up Sparks Violent Confrontation in Chonburi

CHONBURI — A delivery mistake involving a 4,000-baht order of steamed crabs triggered a violent altercation in Bang Lamung district on the evening of August 22. The dispute began when a food delivery intended for an elderly Chinese woman was mistakenly brought to the wrong household.

The intended recipient, an elderly woman aged between 60 and 70, contacted the occupants of the house, identified as 34-year-old Chinese-Cambodian national Mr. Mar Tu. According to reports, the household reportedly responded, saying they had already eaten the crabs, which prompted frustration and anger from the woman and her family.

Her son quickly arrived with nearly ten others to confront the household, and the discussion escalated into a physical brawl. CCTV footage captured multiple individuals involved in the altercation. As a result, Mr. Mar Tu and a gardener sustained injuries and were taken to a local hospital for treatment.

Authorities confirmed that the case remains under investigation. Police are reviewing video evidence and coordinating efforts to identify and summon those responsible to face legal proceedings. Officials emphasized the seriousness of the incident and warned that assault over minor disputes can lead to criminal charges.
