At least nine people lost their lives on July 30, 2025, following an explosion at a firecracker factory in Muang district, Suphan Buri province. The blast left two others seriously injured and caused further injuries among several individuals in the area.
According to initial assessments, the explosion completely destroyed the factory and caused significant damage to nearby vehicles. Emergency response teams arriving on the scene found the facility reduced to rubble, with debris scattered across a wide radius.
Authorities have cordoned off the site and are currently prohibiting access due to fears of additional explosions. The cause of the incident has not yet been determined, and an investigation is underway.
This latest accident comes just months after a similar incident in January in Suan Taeng sub-district of the same province, which resulted in 23 fatalities and multiple injuries.
Provincial Governor Piriya Chantadilok, along with senior police officials, were present at the scene to oversee the emergency response and ongoing safety assessments.
