A 34-year-old Laotian woman was killed after being struck by a taxi while crossing the road in Pathum Thani’s Lam Luk Ka district on the night of June 28. Her five-month-old baby, whom she was carrying at the time, survived the incident and is now receiving medical care.

The fatal accident occurred around 10:00 p.m. on Lam Luk Ka Khlong 4 Road in tambon Lat Sawai. The woman was reportedly returning to her residence from a local eatery where she worked when she was hit while using a marked pedestrian crossing.

Emergency responders from the Romsai Rescue Foundation arrived promptly and attempted resuscitation, but the woman was pronounced dead at the scene. Her infant was transported to a nearby hospital and is reported to be safe.

According to witness accounts, the taxi driver initially attempted to flee but was intercepted by another motorist approximately 500 metres from the crash site. Authorities later found the driver at the scene, where he remained for police questioning.

Local police have yet to release further details about possible charges or the outcome of the investigation.
