Thailand is positioning itself for a tourism upturn following the release of Jurassic World Rebirth, which was filmed extensively in the country and is set to hit global cinemas on July 2, 2025.The Thai Department of Tourism anticipates that the film’s exotic southern landscapes will draw international visitors eager to explore its shooting locations.
The production, which premiered in New York and London in late June, showcases scenic backdrops from Krabi, Phang Nga, and Trang provinces. In addition to putting Thai destinations on screen, the project injected over 400 million baht (approximately USD 12.2 million) into the local economy and provided employment to more than 2,245 Thai workers.
This follows Thailand’s recent exposure as the primary setting for The White Lotus Season 3, reinforcing its appeal as a filming hub. According to tourism officials, Thailand’s participation in such high-profile productions is driven by both its diverse landscapes and government policies offering financial incentives to foreign filmmakers. These include rebates and logistical support aimed at attracting international media investment.
Authorities believe this latest installment of the Jurassic franchise will not only elevate Thailand’s global image but also encourage film-related tourism, a sector that blends economic stimulus with cultural promotion.
While the film’s natural settings take center stage, credit has also been extended to Thailand’s production infrastructure and the skilled local workforce that supported the shoot. A number of government and tourism officials, along with production representatives, were present at promotional events held in conjunction with the film’s premiere.
