Bangkok, June 17, 2025 – A male teacher sustained head injuries following a violent confrontation linked to a suspected romantic dispute at a public school in Bangkok’s Bang Khen district. The incident, which occurred near the school’s swimming pool, has raised concerns about safety within educational institutions.
According to police, the altercation took place at a government school located in the Anusawari subdistrict, which serves students from Kindergarten 1 through Mathayom 3 (Grade 9). Officers from Bang Khen Police Station and emergency responders from the Por Teck Tung Foundation were dispatched after reports of gunfire were received via emergency channels.
When authorities arrived at the scene, they found a male teacher bleeding from the head. Investigators believe the incident stemmed from a personal conflict involving a romantic triangle. During the confrontation, the suspect allegedly struck the teacher with a firearm, causing it to discharge. The shot did not hit the victim but added to the chaos and alarm at the school.
The suspect fled the premises immediately following the incident. Emergency medical personnel provided first aid to the injured teacher at the scene before transferring him to Bhumibol Adulyadej Hospital for further treatment.
Police are actively searching for the suspect and reviewing CCTV footage from the school and surrounding area to aid the investigation. While the firearm is believed to have discharged accidentally during the physical altercation, the motive is considered personal and tied to a possible affair.
School officials have pledged full cooperation with law enforcement, and authorities have sought to reassure the public that student safety remains a priority as the investigation proceeds.
