According to a study commissioned by the Bangkok-based polling firm Super Poll, 85.6% of respondents say Thailand gained considerably from hosting these meetings, while 82.5% are satisfied with Prime Minister Gen Prayut Chan-o-efforts cha’s and consider him a crucial player in the success.
The results of the survey indicate that the success of APEC activities will assist the nation’s economy recover from the epidemic. In the next six months, 65.8% of those polled are optimistic that the Thai economy would improve.
The results demonstrate the public’s trust in the Prime Minister, according to Tipanan Sirichana, deputy government spokesperson. She stated that the objectives of the meetings were realized and that the international community was able to recognize Thailand’s capabilities.
Several Asian-Pacific economic leaders praised Thailand’s APEC meetings, including Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong, who praised the creativity and beauty of Thai cuisine, and President Emmanuel Macron of France, who pledged his support for the conservation of Thailand’s historical attractions and praised Thailand’s soft power, which includes Muay Thai, street food culture, and tourism.
