Thailand defeated South Korea to open the third and final week of the preliminary round of the 2022 FIVB Volleyball Women’s Nations League.
The Thai team defeated its opponents on Wednesday (June 29) with scores of 25-11, 25-22, and 25-17. The team will then face the Dominican Republic, Brazil, and Italy.
Thailand coach Danai Sriwatcharamethakul stated that his team had a solid game plan and was able to execute a variety of winning strategies against the Koreans.
The eight players infected with Covid-19 in the second week of the season have also returned to the team’s roster. Pornpun Guedpard, Chatchu-on Moksri, Pimpichaya Kokram, and Ajcharaporn Kongyuet now lead the team.
Thatdao Nuekjang, who suffered an injury in the first week, will most likely miss the rest of the season, according to Danai.
Thailand defeated Bulgaria, China, and Serbia in their first week of competition in Turkey, but fell to Belgium. They defeated Canada in their second week in the Philippines, but lost to Poland, Japan, and the United States.
The top seven teams in the event, as well as the host country, Turkey, will advance to the finals next month.
