Naphondej reported the fire in Sampeng. The cause could be a gasoline-powered vehicle and a transformer that exploded.
On June 26, Dr. Naphondej Maneelangka, advisor to the Disaster Prevention and Mitigation Committee said he would come to the area to receive information about the fire from the people, who are shophouses near the Ratchawong pier. Bangkok first knew that the fire was probably from a gasoline car that caught fire and was near a large transformer, causing an explosion that spread to the building on the road which caused another fire. Just four months ago, on February 27, 2022, a fire broke out in a commercial building on Soi Wanich 1. Including the fire in the Bonkai community on Rama IV Road, this is the fourth time in this area.
Dr. Napoldej said that the population has suffered a lot from this incident. The Governor of Bangkok, the Ministry of Interior and the concerned agencies should implement the following measures:
1. Provide inspection of gas vehicles to ensure that they are safe.
2. On public holidays, Saturdays and Sundays, the disaster agency must be ready.
3. Organize routes for rapid firefighting in the event of a fire.
4. Monitoring the safety of buildings
5. Raise public awareness through regular fire drills
